Designed to meet the demanding needs of the electrical contractor and safety inspector, the STERLING/METREL model
Designed to meet the demanding needs of the electrical contractor and safety inspector, the STERLING/METREL model 2088 ground/insulation resistance tester is ideally suited for electrical testing and measurement of:

•Ground resistivity
•Ground resistance
•Insulation resistance
•TRMS-AC current
•Voltage AC/DC
•Continuity
•Resistance

Some of the features of the model 2088 are:

•Large LCD display
•Operates on battery or 110V AC
•Capable of storing up to 1000 records
•Includes RS232 interface for data transfer and Windows-compatible software for report generation
•CAT III/300V or CAT II/600V rating

In addition, the unit also tests the over-voltage protection of varistors in grounding circuits, as well as performing clamp-on ground resistance and individual grounding rod resistance tests. It offers a high insulation resistance range of up to 30 G Ohms, with a very wide range of user selectable test voltages from 50V to 1000V. The LCD display has a backlight for use in low-lighting conditions, and the instrument shows the actual test voltage being used and not a simple approximation.

The tester may be used in a variety of applications, including electrical grounding at the utility level, electrical safety inspections, power quality applications, and new installations where grounding and bonding represent a critical safety issue.
