Siemens Launches Spectrum PowerCC Generation Management System

In an effort to help Gencos and other electric power producers gain strategic control of generating assets, the Power Systems Control and Energy Management Division of Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution Inc., is now offering Spectrum PowerCC. Spectrum PowerCC is a complete energy control solution commanding energy production management and energy trading functions for the office, trading floor, and control center in a single environment and derived from Siemens proven SINAUT Spectrum control system.

Spectrum PowerCC, a fully integrated suite of generation management applications running on Microsoft Windows NT and standard PC hardware, provides a powerful, cost-effective solution for day-to-day operational needs.

With Spectrum PowerCC, system installation, administration and maintenance costs are minimized because it employs innovative technologies that make it easier to stay current with evolving industry standards. A Spectrum PowerCC system features open industry standard interfaces, a commercial relational database management system, a web-based user interface, and the first full CIM (common informational model) compliant implementation of a power system data model in the marketplace. These features make it highly scalable and easily integrated into any IT environment.

The system's extreme flexibility, ease of use, and powerful applications also make Spectrum PowerCC an ideal solution for the industrial energy control marketplace. Here too, users can take advantage of Spectrum PowerCC's supervisory control and data acquisition capabilities to better optimize and control power generation and ultimately improve the bottom line.
