S&C Electric Company Names Two New Directors

welcomes two distinguished new members to its Board of Directors. The two new Directors, Erle Nye and Judy Whinfrey, bring a wealth of business experience to the Board. Their expertise should prove extremely valuable as S&C, which established an ESOP and became an employee-owned company last year, moves forward in providing innovative products and services to the fast-changing electric power industry.

Erle Nye is Chairman Emeritus of TXU Corp., now Energy Future Holdings Corp., one of the nation's largest electric utilities. Mr. Nye was elected President of TXU in 1987 and Chairman and CEO in 1997. He received a B.S. Electrical Engineering degree from Texas A&M University and a JD from Southern Methodist University. Mr. Nye has served as Chairman of the Edison Electric Institute, Electric Power Research Institute, North American Electric Reliability Council, and the Nuclear Energy Institute. Among many civic and charitable endeavors, he is a member of the Board of Regents of Texas A&M University and serves on the boards of Baylor Research Institute and the Salvation Army. He is past chair of the Greater Dallas Chamber and is a member of the Governor's Business Council in Texas.

Judy Whinfrey is a Principal at Hewitt Associates LLC with over 25 years of experience with the company consulting in human resources strategy, design of compensation and employee benefit programs, talent management, and human capital metrics. She is a founder of Hewitt's Women in Leadership initiative, focusing on developing future women leaders. Ms. Whinfrey served on Hewitt's Executive Committee from 1995 to 2002, and when Hewitt became a public company, she served on the company's Board of Directors. She is currently the Chairman of the Board of Central DuPage Health System and a member of the Board and Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee of Benedictine University.
