Retx Load Management Dispatcher selected by CILCO
Retx, a pioneer in developing Internet-based software and solutions for electric and gas utilities, is providing LMD to AES CILCO for use with their end-use customers who choose a load curtailment strategy. LMD is a secure, Web-based application developed by Retx.com and its partners for use by Energy Service Providers (ESPs) and Local Distribution Companies (LDCs). It simultaneously monitors real-time hourly trading prices and end-use customer's energy load management, and allows the energy company and customer to share in the profits made from load curtailment.
Said Malme, "AES CILCO is a fine example of a forward thinking retail energy company. They clearly understand the need to provide their customers with value added options, like LMD, in order to remain competitive and provide the best service. We're proud to have them join our growing list of retail energy customers across North America, and integrate technological breakthroughs that help solve our national energy issues."
Said Terry Wright, with the Business Development Group in the Energy Management Center of AES CILCO, "Retx's LMD product is the kind of solution we've been looking for to offer as an option to our customers. In a volatile energy market like this, it makes real sense to give our customers the chance to gain advantages while also encouraging planned conservation and environmental improvements. Everyone becomes a winner."
LMD is currently offered to CILCO'S customers who have chosen to participate in their market sharing program.
Retx, founded in 1998, works throughout North America with electric and gas distribution utilities, load serving entities, ISOs (Independent Service Operators), and retail energy service providers that have or will deregulate or unbundle their energy services. The company headquarters are in Atlanta, Georgia, and Retx Canada is based in Calgary, Canada. The company provides fully integrated and secure Web-based services customized for each company, including customer enrollment, meter information management, retail settlements, curtailment management, performing compliance responses, assisting with audit capability, and more. Retx.com also works with energy companies to plan and prepare for customer choice in future deregulating marketplaces.
