UTILCO introduces POWERGRIP® innovative, self-cleaning hot-line connectors for overhead distribution applications. POWERGRIP is rugged, reliable and economical.

POWERGRIP is manufactured from a high strength aluminum alloy, clear plated for low contact resistance and dual rated for use with both copper and aluminum conductors. POWERGRIP is stable electrically at conductor temperatures of 125oC and designed for high current applications. POWERGRIP achieved outstanding test results, functioning at optimum levels during loading tests, ANSI 119.4 Class A heat cycle tests, thermal shock tests, and short circuit tests. The traditional method of installing standard hot-line connectors can require two linemen and a variety of tools. But now, due to the one-piece design of the POWERGRIP, a single lineman can make feeder tap connection, switchgear connections, or any other high current connection, quickly, efficiently and safely. POWERGRIP eliminates the need to wire brush the conductor prior to installation as the special grooves help to clean the conductor during installation. The POWERGRIP is also range taking to help reduce inventory.
