POWER-GEN 2000: Evaporative Cooling System
At the same time, the air scrubbing effects of the evaporative cooling media contributes to the removal of many airborne contaminants and particulates before they enter the turbine. This effectively decreases the maintenance required on filters and other equipment, resulting in low operating costs.
During the hottest part of the day, when relative humidity tends to be at its lowest, and when energy is at peak demand, the evaporative cooling effect is greatest. According to the manufacturer, with TURBIdek, at an ambient temperature of 38°C (100°F) and 30% relative humidity, it's possible to achieve a power increase of 11-24% just by cooling the intake air. Munters will be at Power-Gen in booth #3174.
