Plug Power names Roger B. Saillant president & CEO

Plug Power Inc. has appointed Roger B. Saillant as President and Chief Executive Officer. In addition, Saillant will join the company's Board of Directors.

Saillant, 57, joins Plug Power from Visteon Corp. where he held the position of Vice President and General Manager of the company's Energy Transformation Systems group. For over 30 years, Saillant served the Ford Motor Company and Visteon, a spin-off of Ford, in a wide variety of roles. Saillant was most recently responsible for several billion in revenue, including its Distributive Power unit, and for overseeing 12,000 employees on four continents. He has held numerous management positions for the company in the areas of component engineering, catalysts, electronics, and manufacturing.

Saillant holds a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Bowdoin College and a Ph.D in Chemistry from Indiana University, as well as a post-doctorate degree in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of California. He will begin his duties as President and CEO in mid-January 2001.
