OPTImizer+.

The OPTImizer+ is an on-line device that uses patented, innovative technology to continuously monitor power circuit breaker contact wear and mechanical condition. The information provided by this product can be used to predict when to perform equipment maintenance while avoiding costly breaker failures.

Unlike other more expensive products, the OPTImizer+ measures both accumulated fault current (an indication of contact wear) and the timing of the breaker trip mechanism. Using patented I²T technology, the OPTImizer+ measures fault current during the time from main contact separation to arc extinction, and generates an alarm to warn the user when the accumulated fault current is approaching a pre-determined limit.

Few products on the market measure both fault current and breaker timing. When compared to similar products, the OPTImizer+ has a number of enhanced features such as an internal programming menu that can be accessed with a simple serial communication program. With the OPTImizer+, all information is easy to read and understand, and can be downloaded for transmission to a central location. In addition, installation is a simple, non-invasive process and the unit's rugged utility-style construction make it virtually maintenance free.

By providing assurance that the breaker is operating satisfactorily and has not exceeded its wear limits, the OPTImizer+ will provide the information needed to schedule maintenance in a reliability-centered maintenance program.
