Nuon and Reliant Sign up for KWI's kW2000 Software
kW2000 is a suite of 25 applications designed to manage risk and trading in the rapidly changing electricity and multi-commodity energy markets. Using kW2000, changes to the native load and generation assets are integrated with the trading book to give traders a clear, real-time view of Profit at Risk, a key performance indicator in the energyRISK methodology.
These latest successes mean that KWI now has five customers in Holland, making it by far the biggest supplier of power trading risk management software in the region. Last year KWI won Southern Energy's European head office, Statkraft and Essent as customers. kW2000 is used by around 50 power generators, traders and retailers in 15 countries - more than any of its competitors. Over 1.5 billion MWh are managed using the software, which utilizes KWI's innovative energyRISK methodology for generation asset and retail load portfolios.
"There's no doubt that kW2000 is now the trading and risk management system of choice in The Netherlands. This follows our similar success in the NordPool region," said Mike Reilly, KWI's Sales Manager. "Big international names are coming to KWI because we offer a robust and proven solution for physical risk management. Our growing presence in Europe means we can offer superior levels of support, extensive product development and rapid system implementation."
