Loadbreak Elbow and Protective Cap

The 25kV, 200 amp Posi-Break loadbreak elbow and insulated protective cap is designed to increase strike distance and improve electrical performance. The system incorporates several problem-solving features to eliminate the possibility of flashovers due to the dielectric breakdown caused by a partial vacuum or contamination. The elbow and cap gives users flexibility to improve a system's reliability because product modifications are to the elbow and cap, and not to the bushing or bushing accessories. The system can be retrofitted to the user's system without causing an outage, minimizing difficulties associated with product changeout and customer outages.

The system offers a 5.6-in striking distance; added insulation on the elbow and cap to improve static and dynamic electrical performance; and a field and time verified interface seal to prevent the ingress of moisture and contaminants, along with the added insulation to counteract the effects of possible contaminants introduced during installation.

The elbow and cap are fully interchangeable with mating products, and features an insulating sleeve on the probe and an insulation stress-relieving Faraday cage provided by conductive EPDM rubber insert surrounded by a conductive insert layer of insulated EPDM rubber.
