Columbus, OH - Emerson Network Power announced that the Liebert iCOM control system and the Liebert STS2/PDU were recognized for innovative product design in the first annual "Perfect 10" Awards sponsored by Consulting-Specifying Engineering (CSE) magazine, a leading engineering trade magazine. Liebert was the only product family to receive multiple awards in the program, which was created to recognize innovative new products in the electrical and mechanical markets.

The Liebert iCOM won the Gold award in the Controls Category, while the Liebert STS2/PDU static transfer switch won the Bronze Award in the Power Generation/ Emergency Power category.

The Liebert iCOM control system coordinates operation among multiple Liebert DS precision cooling units, allowing them to function as a single coordinated system. iCOM also includes internal service log (Unit Diary), tracking of component wellness with maintenance reminders (Wellness Calculation), and spare parts identification, all industry firsts.

"iCOM represents a significant advance in cooling system controls," said Liebert iCOM Product Manager Theresa Krystofik. "Enhanced control capabilities, such as increased inter-unit communication and more advanced diagnostics; are allowing us to increase the efficiency and serviceability of the cooling systems used to provide a safe operating environment for business-critical systems."

The Liebert STS2/PDU static transfer switch provides an automatic, seamless transfer between a critical load and the outputs of two independent uninterruptible power supply systems in a dual-bus configuration. Integrating power distribution capabilities into the transfer switch reduces floor space requirements and simplifies deployment.

"Our strategy with the STS2/PDU was to provide an integrated approach to switching and distribution that reduces installation time and cost compared to conventional approaches using multiple interconnected components," said Liebert STS2/PDU Product Manager Bill Barcus

In CSE`s two-phase product-of-the-year competition, a panel of expert judges chose three finalists in eight different categories. The publication`s 46,000 readers then voted on the finalists in each category to determine the winning entries.
