The Robust Hydrogen Sensor provides detection over a broad magnitude of concentrations, from 45 ppm to 100%, with the sensor element to operate from -55°C to 100°C. The sensor is designed to withstand hostile environments, including toxic petrochemical processes and high-level radiation in nuclear power plants. This permits real-time, reliable measurements of hydrogen gas throughout a facility or process.

The sensor is small in size, located on a 14 millimeter-square microchip. A palladium nickel (PdNi) catalytic alloy is used to create a series of resistors and transistors that compose the sensor. The alloy's high sensitivity to hydrogen makes detection possible at concentrations well below 1% and produces accurate detection at high concentrations. Additional features include:

•Hand held unit with integrated options
•Remote data transmission
•Audible and visual alarms
•Purge/rest capability
•Graphical display/digital readout
•Direct connect to microcomputer
•LCD display noting the amount of hydrogen in the environment
•Low battery indicators
•Provision for output of data in a digital format to a PC using the DCH H2Tracker software
•Provision for output as an analog signal
