TEQSIM International a three-phase electromagnetic and electromechanical synchronous real-time simulator based on analog and digital technologies. The technology is composed of passive, electronic and digital elements. The passive elements of the simulator include models of transmission lines, transformers, shunt reactors and static loads. The electronic elements comprise circuit breaker, arrester and thyristor valve models while the digital elements are the hydraulic and thermal turbine-generator models, dynamic load models, HVDC and SVC control models, and models of other FACTS elements if requested.

Each component has been designed to optimize the simulation precision. The use of real voltages and currents allows the analog components to accurately reproduce the electromagnetic transients phenomena. Moreover, the use of analog components allows an almost unlimited number of connections of network components to the same busbar (or station).
