ETAP Complies With CSA Z462 Standard For Arc Flash Hazard Analysis

Edmonton, AB - ETAP Canada Ltd. in conjunction with Operation Technology, Inc., has announced that the ETAP software is now compliant with the new CSA Z462 Workplace Electrical Safety Standard released by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) in 1st Edition on December 28, 2008. The CSA Z462 Standard enables Canadians to readily apply existing mathematic and procedural references from the existing IEEE Standard 1584 and NFPA 70E related to Arc Flash Hazard Analysis. In addition, the Standard elaborates on labeling, language, safety and additional Canada-specific issues. By quickly adapting ETAP software to work with these requirements, engineers throughout Canada will be able to effective and efficiently update existing facilities and better-design new facilities.
"We are proud to work with CSA to help engineers throughout Canada to adapt to the new Z462 standard for workplace electrical safety. With ETAP's advanced Arc Flash Analysis Software and labeling tools, Canadian facilities will be able to comply quicker than ever before," said Darcy Braun, Manager of ETAP Canada Ltd.
"The ability for electrical analysis tools such as ETAP to meet the requirements of CSA Z462 enables electrical engineers and facility managers throughout Canada with the assurance that clear, consistent and reliable results will be available through the use of in-house or consultant based engineering services," stated Terry Becker, CEO and Senior Management Consultant of the ESPS Electrical Safety Program Solution, Inc.
