EPRI Elects Five New Board Members

Palo Alto, Calif. — April 15, 2005 — The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Board of Directors elected five new directors at its annual meeting on April 6.

The new Board members, elected to four-year terms, are:

  • Nicholas A. Brown President and CEO, Southwest Power Pool, Inc.
  • Michael S. Greene, Chairman and Chief Executive, TXU Power
  • Richard R. Grigg, Executive Vice President and COO, FirstEnergy Corporation
  • Karen Y. Knutson, Vice President, Government Relations, ML Strategies LLC
  • Susan F. Tierney, Managing Principal, Analysis Group, Inc.
  • Charles W. Shivery, Chairman, President, & CEO, Northeast Utilities, an interim director, was elected to a four-year term.

In addition, the terms of four directors that were set to expire on April 6, 2005, were extended to April 4, 2006. They are:

  • Eugene W. Zeltmann, President & CEO, NY Power Authority
  • Erroll B. Davis, Jr., Chairman, President & CEO, Alliant Energy Corporation
  • G. Edison Holland, Jr., Executive Vice President & General Counsel, Southern Company
  • T. Michael May, President & CEO, Hawaiian Electric Company

The Board of Directors reelected the Institute's current officers as follows:

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), with major locations in Palo Alto, California and Charlotte, North Carolina, was established in 1973 as an independent, non-profit center for public interest energy and environmental research.
