Enermetrix Network adds Valusource Energy

New DQE subsidiary uses the Internet and Enermetrix technology to facilitate Pennsylvania's electric choice program

Enermetrix, and a recently formed subsidiary of Duquesne Light Company called ValuSource Energy will use the Enermetrix Network to serve Duquesne Light's business, governmental and industrial customers.

ValuSource's solution is based upon Enermetrix' award-winning e-commerce platform and will provide its customers with a simple, cost-saving energy purchasing system. With the advent of Pennsylvania's Electric Choice program, customers throughout the state now have the freedom to choose their electric supplier. ValuSource Energy will give the customers of Duquesne Light the option to purchase their energy online, via the most active Web-based retail energy network in the nation.

ValuSource Energy recently received its Electric Generation Supplier (EGS) license, allowing it to begin brokering electricity in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. ValuSource will pursue customers throughout southwestern Pennsylvania, including Duquesne Light's large customer base in Allegheny and Beaver County.
