Energy Meter with Digital PCS Cellular Modem

The MARK-V is an advanced, revenue-grade energy meter strategically equipped for deployment on 100kw and larger commercial and industrial accounts. The meter features wireless AMR data retrieval options and includes a load profiling recorder, power quality monitoring system and on-line diagnostics to help meet future requirements in a competitive marketplace. It is used in a variety of commercial, industrial, substation and generation applications.

The meter now offers a fully integrated digital PCS wireless modem for installations requiring remote retrieval of metering data. Its internal modem provides an AMR solution for commercial and industrial accounts by utilizing an existing nationwide PCS wireless network infrastructure as the communications gateway to retrieve meter billing and usage data, power quality reports and outage notification. It is designed to provide reliable, high-speed 14.4K bps data communications enabling faster meter reading times with reduced cost.

All meter components including the proprietary antenna are fully self-contained inside the meter chassis. There is no wiring connections or external communication boxes requiring installation for the system to operate. The user simply installs the meter and the site is ready for remote wireless data retrieval. Provisions are available for connecting an external antenna for meter installations in security cabinets.
