Electric City Corp. Joins The Demand Response And Advanced Metering Coalition

Membership Will Help Shape Regulatory and Utility Policy on Demand Response

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., and WASHINGTON, June 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Electric City Corporation (Amex: ELC), a leading developer, manufacturer and integrator of energy savings technologies and demand response systems, and the Demand Response and Advanced Metering Coalition (DRAM) announced today that Electric City has joined the industry group.

The Demand Response and Advanced Metering Coalition is comprised of companies providing products and services in areas such as advanced metering and communications, automated controls, and demand response program implementation and management. The Coalition's goal is to educate and inform policy makers and other demand response stakeholders on the benefits of demand response and its enabling technologies. It seeks to provide support for the increased deployment of such technologies in demand response programs such that both energy companies and energy consumers are empowered with time-based usage information and other new options they can use to efficiently and cost- effectively provide and use energy.

"We are very pleased and excited to have Electric City, a leading developer of scaleable commercial and industrial demand response systems, join DRAM at this time," stated Dan Delurey, Executive Director of DRAM. "Having Electric City as a member of DRAM will help us provide broader information and expertise on demand response to policy makers, demand response practitioners, and other parties. Electric City's membership will allow us to more broadly represent the views of the demand response industry and will enable us to present additional real-world case studies and examples of technology deployments to the audiences that we are seeking to inform and educate."

Anna Baluyot, VP of Utility Development, will represent Electric City within the group. "We are pleased to become a part of DRAM and join with other industry participants in educational efforts and outreach programs on demand response," stated Anna Baluyot. "Electric City is seen as a leader in developing large-scale demand response systems for the commercial and industrial market and we look forward to actively helping DRAM expand and enhance its efforts to broaden the understanding of demand response and the ways that it can be integrated into our electricity system. We know the importance to the policy process of having correct and appropriate data and information available, and we will be helping DRAM's efforts to ensure that regulation and legislation related to demand response is accomplished in a way that works for consumers and electricity providers alike, and in a way that helps achieve consistency among states as they move forward in this area."

Other members of DRAM include eMeter, DCSI, Landis+Gyr, Echelon, EMON/MeterSmart, SmartSynch, Alliance to Save Energy, Elster Electricity, Hunt Technologies, Silver Spring Networks, Invensys Goodwatts, Comverge and the Northeast Energy Efficiency Council.
