The DM-16 modem is a V.23, Frequency Shift Keyed (FSK) modem designed for voice frequency (VF) circuits and copper cable pairs for data rates of up to 1,200 Baud.
This modem can operate over up to 36km of unloaded copper pairs or a 2/4 wire CCITT standard VF channel with frequency range of 300-3,400 Hz
Operation
The V.23 modem is designed for use in a single EuroCard 19'' sub-rack system. This rack can accommodate 17 V.23 modems as well as 2 redundant power supplies for the system.
The rear communications interface consists of one DB-9 female connector for serial connection to each modem module. The 2/4-wire interface is provided for on an RJ-11 4/4 connector.
