When Virginia Tech initiated plans to build a supercomputer by clustering hundreds of desktop computers, it had ambitious goals for the performance of the new system – including being one of the five fastest supercomputers in the world – and a very aggressive schedule.
With the help of Liebert and other partners, the university was able to accomplish its objectives within the prescribed time frame.
