Incorporated as UP Systems in 1978, the company established its reputation as a manufacturer of high quality UPS Systems. In September of 1990, the company moved from Paramount, CA to Caledonia, NY. With the move, the company's name changed to Chloride UP Systems. In 1995, Chloride's parent company, Chloride Group PLC, developed a new corporate identity for its divisions, which included changing the UPS Division name to Chloride Power Electronics. In 1996, Chloride Power Electronics consolidated its manufacturing facilities with its sister company, Chloride Systems, a manufacturer of emergency lighting systems.
Chloride Power Electronics and Chloride Systems share a 60,000 square foot facility in Burgaw, North Carolina -- 30 miles north of Wilmington -- North Carolina's state port. A fully integrated management team and a new work force was formed to provide world class products and service to compete in a dynamic marketplace.
Chloride Power Electronics is positioned to become the leader in single- and three-phase UPS Systems. New products, innovative engineering and first-class service are major priorities for the company, and will be critical to its future success.
