Surpass customers expectations with the STAR Wide Area Fixed Network AMR System. This is a truly automatic meter reading system, involving no meter readers, vans, or handhelds. STAR Meter Transmitter Units are compatible with all encoder, pulse and generator meters, and read the meter twice each day. These readings are sent over a secure, FCC licensed radio channel to STAR Data Collector Units, which in turn send them to a Network Control Computer housed at a utility billing office. Powerful software organizes the readings into a rich database of customer information.
