Alliant Energy chooses OSI's monarch™ platform as the standard for its Generation Management and Distribution SCADA Systems
Alliant Energy's new GMS system will support the separation of the generation business unit from the transmission business unit and will provide advanced monitoring and control of Alliant Energy's generation assets at the operations center located in Madison, Wisconsin. On-line operation of this system is expected by March 2002.
OSI was also awarded a contract for implementation of a Distribution SCADA system at Alliant Energy's Cedar Rapids, Iowa distribution operations center. The SCADA system will collect data from substation automation devices and communicate with various enterprise systems using DNP and ICCP protocols. On-line operation of the SCADA system is expected by summer of 2002.
