Survalent Technology Commissions a New Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for Southern Public Power District, Nebraska

Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) - Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for Southern Public Power District, Nebraska.

Southern Public Power District operates over 6,900 miles of distribution lines that are served by 73 substations located throughout the District's 4,028 square mile service area. Their service area extends through the rural areas of Adams, Franklin, Hall, Hamilton, Kearney, Merrick, Phelps, and Clay counties.

The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, Command Sequencing, Event Data Recording, IED Wizard and Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Capacitor Bank Control, Virtual RTU, MultiSpeak, Dynamic Voltage Reduction, WebSurv, and SurvCentral for Mobile Devices.

“We welcome Southern Power District in Nebraska to our ever growing family of Survalent users of ADMS systems,” states Mike Roth, VP of Sales for Central US. “The SCADA system installed by Southern is replacing an old legacy Ilex system and provides state-of-art monitoring and control capabilities for the IEDs in the substations. In addition, the new SCADA system has embedded load control functionality which would allow Southern to transit the responsibility for load control of the more than 6,000 switches to the new system.”
