Itron Launches ‘Distribution Staker' Software To Increase Efficiency Of Computer-Aided Design Work For Utilities

Itron Inc. (NASDAQ: ITRI) announced today the release and commercial availability of Distribution Staker, a new software solution to streamline utility workflows for distribution system and line design.

By improving the distribution design process, Itron provides the knowledge and tools for municipalities, co-ops and investor-own utilities to benefit from the automation and increased efficiency of computer-aided design. Distribution Staker reduces design cycle times and maximizes scarce resources by streamlining production of required project deliverables such as construction drawings and staking sheets.

Distribution Staker was developed by engineers for engineers with ease of use as a top priority, said Philip Mezey, Senior Vice President of Itron's Software Solutions. The main goal was to create a tool that was intuitive and easy to use. Distribution Staker's user interface supports all distribution design workflows including new installations, maintenance work and re-conductor projects.

"We are excited to introduce Distribution Staker, an innovative software product that provides great value and meets the key challenges faced by today's distribution designers," said Mezey. "This tool allows designers to work faster and more efficiently, which in turn, reduces costs and saves time and money for utilities."

With Distribution Staker, engineers can produce and display multiple design scenarios under a single work order. The flexible software supports desktop, laptop and tablet computers, while in the field and in the office. In addition, Distribution Staker takes very little time to learn, with a short training before implementing.
