Low-Profile Switchers

Astec Americaies of low power switchers feature compact packaging that make them ideal power solutions for 1U (1.75-in.) rack installations and other low-profile applications. With active power factor correction to minimize input harmonic distortion, the new NTQ160 models accept universal AC input (85 to 264VAC) and offer four DC outputs that vary depending on model. They provide 165W of output power with 30 CFM forced air.

Only 1.5-in. high, the U-channel switchers have a compact footprint of 4.25-in. x 8.5-in. and can be set up for lengthwise or crosswise airflow, giving designers layout flexibility. They include a built-in Class B EMI filter, remote sense and single-wire parallel on the two primary outputs that enables current-sharing to balance loads. The devices also feature overload and over-voltage protection as well as thermal overload protection.
