Survalent Technology Commissions, a New Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for the City of Hurricane, Utah

Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) - Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for the City of Hurricane, Utah.

Hurricane Power serves almost 6,000 customers within the city limits. Hurricane Power owns and operates its own power generators to meet peak power demand. Currently they have three, 1.6 megawatt Caterpillar diesel generators and six, 2 megawatt Caterpillar natural gas generators. One of the six natural gas generators is owned by Washington City but operated by Hurricane Power through an agreement. Hurricane Power is a member of the Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems.

The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: SmartVU, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and Control Panel, and Command Sequencing.
