Flogas Renewables, Northern Power Systems Sign Distribution Deal

Agreement brings Northern Power Systems' lineup of innovative wind turbines to customers across the UK.

According to Flogas Renewables business development manager, David Taylor, the partnership with Northern Power Systems will open up the offering of the manufacturer's entire platform to Flogas Renewables' existing customer base and serve to promote the benefits of wind turbines to new customers. The deal also marks a significant milestone for newly formed Flogas Renewables, which recently incorporated Leicester based UFW Ltd.

Manufacturing the leading 100kw wind turbine available in Britain, Northern Power Systems recently announced that it had listed on the Toronto stock exchange. Its innovative range of wind turbines are known for their low maintenance, reliability, high yield, as well as their suitability to work across diverse landscapes and business uses. The products boast a series of unique features including: permanent direct-drive technology; 24/7 wind turbine monitoring and reporting; 99.5% availability across global fleet and zero catastrophic failures; and simplified grid connection with Northern Power’s states-of-the-art converter technology.

With the deal, Flogas Renewables is now in a position to supply a 100kW wind turbine, which meets the energy needs for agricultural and commercial business installations - whilst also providing valuable income for the UK Feed-in Tariff (FiT) - as well as the 60kw model which is suited to smaller sites. Flogas Renewables’ range of wind turbines – which will be exhibiting at a number of Agricultural shows this summer – now includes 6/10/60/100kw turbines.

The Leicester-based renewables company is working with a number of resellers from across the UK to facilitate installations, including Absolute Solar & Wind, based in Glasgow.
