Eaton To Expand Manufacturing Operations At Three Milwaukee-Area Plants In US

Eaton has invested $54m in its Waukesha-based Cooper Power Systems business in an effort to expand manufacturing operations at three Milwaukee-area plants in US.

Involving expansion of Badger Drive manufacturing plant and technology upgrade at its Badger Drive and Lincoln Avenue Power Systems plants, the project is expected to help the company address growing demand for its utility, commercial and industrial power distribution products and solutions..

The facilities produce electrical equipment including three-phase transformers, substation transformers and voltage regulators for secure and reliable distribution of electrical power..

Wisconsin Governer Scott Walker said, "This project not only solidifies Eaton's commitment to Wisconsin, but also is an indication that the company is continuing to look toward the future.".

Eaton Cooper Power Systems Division president Clayton Tychkowsky said Waukesha and the Milwaukee area offer a highly skilled workforce and play a significant role in the continued success of the company's business..

"This investment and expansion will provide new manufacturing technology and enhance our regional manufacturing capabilities to help us meet the increasing demand for our products by utility, commercial and industrial customers," Tychkowsky added..

Around $1.36m has been provided by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC in tax credits for the project, which could create as many as 200 jobs in the region over the next two years.
