Aircraft started working with the Military back in the Vietnam War era and developed a patented, ground concealment system for the UH-1 Helicopter called "Crazy Wheels". This was followed by another program calling for an Azimuth Traversing Unit which allowed an H-34 Helicopter to be moved and aimed while on the ground for firing Rockets. Since this initial involvement with the Military, Aircraft has gone on to be involved in at least three major pentagon programs, as a prime contractor, equipping thousands of M1-Abrams tanks and thousands of Bradley fighting vehicles. The 24 volt "Roboimpact" torque wrench has saved countless man hours of work changing armor, track, track pads, road wheels, sprockets, and the like on these vehicles.
The Aircraft Dynamics Corporation was inspired by a gentleman who owned an old line American company started in the depression years. This man was attempting to move his company airplane around the runway in late January when he hit a patch of ice and fell to the ground. Soon thereafter, the present CEO and principal owner of Aircraft Dynamics was hired to start a new division and design an electrical towbar that would move the airplane. Aircraft Dynamics began building the Robotow in 1962 and since then has gone on to be the leader in powerful, rugged, battery powered tools for Military and Utility Industry customers.
Nearly one year later, another division of Aircraft Dynamics began servicing the utility industry with the same rugged, dependable tools. We found that Bell Telephone needed a battery powered drill that could travel with the worker and have the power to do pole work all day. Our 24 volt tools, with on-board charging capabilities, were ready to handle the toughest of jobs whether from the bucket truck or over the hill and down the alley. Today we supply thousands of Utility Industry customers with our powerful line of Robotools and Robolights.
