Web-Based Inspection Module

This web-based inspection management system, Inspection Manager, is fully integrated with the manufacturer's Enterprise Reliability Management System (ERMS). The new module makes inspection information accessible enterprise-wide via an Intranet. It also optimizes inspections without compromising safety by analyzing inspection data in ERMS.

The module allows users to record and report internal and external visual inspections, observations and findings, codify damaged mechanisms and record templates for inspection processes. This inspection data can then be analyzed, categorized, and applied to different performance criteria across various departments within an organization. Personnel can benefit from the module in the following ways:

•Inspectors can record the results and conclusions of their inspections in a combination of free-format text and pre-defined classifications; they can also include recommendations and submit them for approval
•Supervisors can review and approve inspection reports and recommendations
•Reliability engineers have a source of classified events that they can analyze and trend; they now have pre-failures for proactive analysis
•Operators have access to the data that tells them something about the current and historical condition of their equipment
•Engineers have access to the same data on which to make decisions about equipment upgrades and replacements
•Managers have an additional source of data on which to base new Key Performance Indicators
