Survalent Technology Commissions a New Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District

The Central District is organized as two major divisions for the purposes of operation. The Irrigation Division headquarters are located in Holdrege with a satellite office in Bertrand. The Hydro Division is located at Gothenburg. A branch office of the Gothenburg Division is also maintained at Kingsley Dam near Ogallala. Central’s administrative headquarters are in Holdrege.

The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including:, SmartVU, Command Sequencing, Disturbance Analysis, Event Data Recording, IED Wizard and Control Panel, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, Master/Slave Alarm Suppression, System Configuration Status, OPC Client/Server, Replicator, and WebSurv.

The system controls the District’s hydro generating plants and the water irrigation facilities via new RTUs at the power plants and PLCs at the irrigation canal sites. The triple redundant system also includes a dual Historian and a WebSurv for remote read-only access of the system database via browser clients and mobile devices.”
