Splice Box HL-41

Splice Box HL-41
The HL-41 Splice Box is made from fiberglass reinforced polyester, and in tests by major utilities it has consistently proven to be the strongest box available
IN GENERAL

High Strength - much stronger than thermoplastic boxes. Protected from UV radiation and weather effects. Unaffected by temperatures of -50F to +200F. Boxes can be nested for compact storage.

CONSTRUCTION

The HL-41 Splice Box is made from fiberglass reinforced polyester, and in tests by major utilities it has consistently proven to be the strongest box available. Polyester is a thermoset material whose structural properties are essentially unchanged over a temperature range of -50ºF to +200ºF. This is not the case with the majority of thermoplastic materials, such as polyethylene, whose tensile strength and creep resistance are greatly reduced at temperatures over 140ºF. The fiberglass imparts to the polyester high flexural and tensile strength, high creep resistance, exceptional impact resistance and excellent dimensional stability.

The strength of fiberglass reinforced polyester is unaffected by UV radiation, whereas many thermoplastic materials deteriorate significantly when exposed to UV radiation, even if they are "UV stabilized."

New tests prove that the HL-41 will support a load of 7,500 lbs over a 6" x 6" area on the cover and a side load of 1,000 lbs.

Color is dark green (Munsell 7GY 3.29/1.5).
