Total Resource Management Acquires Quality Systems Inc.

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Total Resource Management (TRM) today announced the acquisition of the assets of Quality Systems Inc. (QSI). This acquisition furthers TRM's commitment to the utility market by expanding its Energy, Utilities and Process Manufacturing Operations.

For over two decades, QSI has delivered consulting and technical services to the utility industry and industrial manufacturers. Incorporating the industry expertise of QSI with TRM's enterprise asset management (EAM) consulting and technology services extends the value that TRM brings to clients in the utility and process industries.

With this acquisition comes QSI's intellectual property -- databases, knowledge-bases, custom and commercial software products -- as well as QSI's employees, many of whom have more than 30 years of experience in the maintenance and operation areas. QSI's experience includes supporting the implementation of MAXIMO(R) for power generation, transmission, distribution and related industries. QSI also brings expertise in providing technical assistance for job plans, preventive maintenance programs and procedure development especially as it relates to regulatory compliance and safety measures.

In tandem with the acquisition, former QSI president, William Olsen, has been appointed executive vice president of TRM's Energy, Utilities and Process Manufacturing Operations. This consulting team will focus on delivering EAM implementation and consulting services to utility, waste and water treatment and process-oriented manufacturing plants, such as pharmaceutical, refining and petrochemical companies.

TRM president and CEO Ray Brisbane said, "We have been working closely with Bill Olsen and his team since our partnership began with QSI earlier in 2004. The combination of skills and products has been rewarding, both for TRM and our mutual customers. The QSI team are recognized as leaders in setting industry standards in the utility and nuclear power industries. They are a natural and welcomed extension to our business operations."

A Seamless Customer Transition
Customers will receive the exceptional service they are accustomed to from QSI consultants and partners and will benefit from the products and services TRM brings in full life cycle asset management.

In addition to incorporating QSI's stand-alone products into their customer offerings, TRM is committed to research efforts that support and improve them. For example, TRM adds QSI's Safety Tagging System(TM) (STS) to its growing list of productivity enhancement tools. STS is a simple, easy-to- use, software solution that meets OSHA requirements, enabling quick and efficient preparation, approval, tracking, and auditing of lockout and tag- out. STS not only lowers the cost of tagging, but also improves safety in any plant environment. Another addition is QSI's safety solutions that are used to manage welding and confined space permits.
