Plant Design Software

The new upgraded PowerWORKS APD (Automated Plant Design) software Version 9.0 is used in underground electric design and optimization within residential sub-divisions. The software is a Windows-based, interactive, graphical plant design environment, that is a powerful extension to any utility mapping system. It provides a complete out-of-the box solution geared toward the needs of utility engineers and designers. It is designed to save construction costs usually associated with equipment and cable sizing, and cable routing. It also reduces planning time and exports design results to existing systems.

This version features greatly expanded electric secondary design, with added routing options and user control. Automated grouping of lots to be served by the same transformer is greatly improved, with significantly enhanced logic and user controls. Both enhancements translate to expanded functionality, improved ease-of-use, and cost savings for each utility.
