Metallic Locator
The product's 2048Hz low frequency is optimal for direct connections and offers reduced false coupling of the signal with adjacent pipes and cables. It also provides for a large transmission distance of the locating signal. The 33kHz high frequency is suited for applying the locating signal by induction, or for high-resistance lines. The high frequency also allows the signal to jump insulators, bad or high-resistance connections, and rubber gaskets in pipes.
The probe picks up signals while held waist-high, eliminating bending while walking the cable run. Additionally, the product comes with a bubble level to speed depth calculations via triangulation, and the unit is moisture-resistant. The transmitter operates on eight C cells, and the receiver uses a 9V cell.
