Magnet Wire Testers

Magnet Wire Testers
Model MWT-1 Magnet Wire Tester is a specialized high-voltage power supply designed especially for performing the standard dielectric strength test on twisted enamelled wires.
Model MWT-1 Magnet Wire Tester is a specialized high-voltage power supply designed especially for performing the standard dielectric strength test on twisted enamelled wires. The unit includes a test cage and all necessary equipment to run the test, except a small quantity of mercury, fine steel balls or saline solution.

The test cage is equipped with a plastic door so that the operation of the test may be observed. This door is fitted with a safety interlock switch so that the operator cannot receive an electrical shock. Mercury* cups are machined in a nylon bar, which plugs into sockets within the cage. This permits easy removal of the cups for filling, emptying and cleaning.

The maximum output voltage is 20kv, and there is an adjustable (automatic) rate- of-rise of voltage to the specimen. Testing always begins at zero volts. When breakdown occurs, the reading of the voltage at breakdown remains on the voltmeter, although the high tension is automatically disconnected immediately.
