The Harmonics Analysis Program has been designed to assist electrical engineers in solving harmonics problems
EDSA Micro Corporationcs Analysis Program has been designed to assist electrical engineers in solving harmonics problems through the implementation of object-oriented technology, integration with the company's graphic CAD engine and Automatic Filter Sizing intelligence. Using any network created for analysis, the program is capable of performing frequency scan, total harmonics distortion (THD) and telephone interference analysis.

The system calculates impedance frequency responses (frequency scan) of all buses with respect to a harmonics source at a given location and with respect to positive, zero or negative sequence network to identify possible resonance situations. The scan can be plotted in Ohms or pu, phase angle in degrees.

The bus voltage THD for buses and branch current THD for all branches of a power system when a harmonics source, or several harmonics sources are presented, can be calculated. Branch current RMS values and transformer K-factors also can be obtained. The simulation results are presented in time-domain waveform and in frequency-domain spectrum. They can be displayed in text or graphic formats.

Full integration into the unit's CAD system provides an easy-to-use drag-and-drop environment for studying and analyzing harmonics. The user can select, view and insert sources of harmonics at any bus in distribution system. Sources can be imported from monitoring hardware & saved in EDSA Micro Corporationc Source library.
