Elementa To Build 10 MW Energy-From-Waste Facility In Ontario

Clean energy company Elementa Group Inc. has reached an agreement with the Ontario Power Authority to increase Ontario's energy supply through a 10 MW commercial-scale energy-from-waste demonstration project in Sault Ste. Marie.

Elementa says it will generate electricity at its municipal waste-fueled plant, to be built in Sault Ste. Marie. After a decade of development and planning, the company reports that it is preparing to introduce its proprietary, non-incineration-based commercial waste management solution and alternative energy technology to market.

According to Elementa, the company will operate the new plant designed for converting 50,000 tons of post-recycled municipal solid waste to energy. Elementa adds that its technology uses a proprietary steam reformation chemistry that enables the generation of electricity while providing an alternative to landfilling residual waste streams.

Elementa notes that it is preparing to complete all remaining details and advance the project to the construction phase.
