The 88/30 composite brace system is designed to compliment a composite crossarm, and is made from electrical grade pultruded fiberglass rod to which metal hot dipped galvanized end fittings have been attached. The system is weatherproof, insect proof, and woodpecker proof. It is also 100% recyclable, lightweight, has a BIL value of 291, features UV protection, and 25-year no "bloom" protection.
The brace system combined with a crossarm has equal or less deflection than a wooden crossarm with heavy-duty wooden braces. The fiberglass in the new composite brace has a tensile strength of 78,000 PSI and a compressive strength of 47,000 PSI.
