Review of Energy PoliciesSource: IEA Publications
Each year the International Energy Agency conducts studies of energy policy in six member countries, including complete statistical data, chapters on each fuel source, including nuclear and renewables, analyses of current trends, and detailed recommendations for government and industry. This book offers resumes of those in-depth studies, together with complete statistical updates from the remaining 18 member countries. The review includes summaries of the IEA's recent in-depth reviews on Finland, Ireland, Hungary, Japan, and Switzerland. Other member countries' policy developments are also discussed briefly. The report also examines the trends in performance among individual member countries in the different sectors, looks at the increase of liberalization of the electricity and gas sectors and the implication for the economy, and describes the progress in reducing or eliminating subsidies to coal production in member countries.
