Bi-Level HID ControllerSource: The Watt Stopper, Inc.
The controller works with a 24 VDC controlling device, such as an occupancy sensor, photocell, or time switch, and switches HID lighting between high and low. For example, with an occupancy sensor, the unit will switch lights to a lower, energy-saving level when the space is unoccupied. When occupants return, lights immediately return from low to high. The DM-100 provides 24 VDC to the controlling device. It utilizes a dual capacitor and capacitor switching to achieve the bi-level control.
The controller features an easy installation, requiring just two wires to connect to the ballast. It can mount directly on to the HID fixture, or can mount remotely. Multiple modules can be linked together and then be controlled from one device. In addition, multiple DM-100s can connect to multiple controlling devices in a variety of configurations. This gives users the means of combining control methods to customize HID control for each space. To prevent lamp damage upon initial power up, it maintains a continuous high lamp level for the first 15 minutes. Moreover, because the dual capacitor is housed with the control module rather than in the ballast cavity, the capacitor life span is extended.
