Orbit International's Power Group Receives New Order Valued At Approximately $950,000
February 21, 2008
Hauppauge, NY - Orbit International Corp., an electronics manufacturer and software solution provider, recently announced that its Power Group, Behlman Electronics, Inc. ("Behlman") has received a new order, valued at approximately $950,000, for an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for use and support of the US Naval LHA-6 Amphibious Assault Ship program. Approximately one half of the UPS deliveries under the terms of this contract will commence in the second half of 2008 and the remaining power units will be delivered in 2010.
The Company also announced that bookings of its Power Group for 2007 exceeded $10,000,000, the highest amount of contract awards in the segment's history.
Mark Tublisky, President of Behlman Electronics, Inc stated, "Our unique engineering design packaging techniques enables Behlman to provide the shortest chassis depth in our niche power marketplace. We believe the Company now has a distinct competitive advantage for shipboard applications, where total space is always a critical technical issue."
Tublisky continued, "Behlman had previously announced the receipt of an initial order for these units for use on one of the US Navy's LHD Amphibious Assault Ships. As part of the January 2004 release, the Company indicated that a successful installation of these power units could lead to further applications for Navy's fleet program opportunities. The receipt of this order affirms our belief that this unit's distinct size and configuration provides a competitive advantage that could lead to future applications."
Dennis Sunshine, President and Chief Executive Officer of Orbit International Corp., commented, "Behlman's ability to modify its standard products to meet specific customer requirements, combined with its engineering design and support, has resulted in strong demand for its products for niche power applications. This strong base of business has helped Behlman achieve record bookings in 2007. This achievement, along with continued organic growth in our Electronics Group, plus the recent acquisition of Integrated Consulting Services (d/b/a Integrated Combat Systems), is expected to lead to significant revenue and profitability growth for Orbit in 2008."
